Process

Conducted a comprehensive audit of existing Philips interfaces to identify inconsistencies and recurring patterns. Established a foundational token system covering color, typography, spacing, and elevation. Built a modular component library in Figma with clear naming conventions, variants, and usage guidelines.

Created detailed documentation to support adoption across teams. Designed flexible page templates as ready-to-use starting points, then adapted each template per business unit—balancing global brand consistency with local functional requirements.

Collaborated closely with developers to ensure design-to-code parity and maintained the system through regular updates and governance processes.

Outcome

A scalable, unified design system adopted across multiple Philips business units. Reduced design inconsistencies, accelerated product team workflows, and established a single source of truth for UI decisions. Page templates enabled faster project kickoffs while maintaining brand coherence at scale.
